Process Studio - Workflows - Connections Management

  • Updated

Create clear, reliable workflows by defining how nodes connect and interact.

Connections give you precise control over workflows, guiding decision paths and branching logic exactly where needed. With a simple drag-and-drop, you can quickly build, adjust, and refine paths, while optional descriptions help document intent and keep even complex workflows easy to understand.

The result is a clean, compliant, and highly visual process, connected exactly the way you design it.

Allowed Connections

  • Task and Delay nodes support one input and multiple outputs.

  • Rules nodes support multiple inputs and multiple outputs.

How to Create a Connection

To configure a connection between nodes follow these steps:

  1. Locate the first Node output and place the cursor on it .
  2. Click and hold, and then drag and drop over the second Node input you want to connect.
  3. A line connecting the nodes appears and the Connection was created successfully message is displayed.
  • If the connection is not valid, a red line with a warning is displayed between the nodes and the Connection not valid message is displayed. Ensure the connection is allowed according to the Connection Matrix.
  • Create all the connections between nodes according to your process needs.

4 STEPS

1. To create a Connection between nodes locate the first Node output and place the cursor on it. Click and hold.

2. And then drag and drop over the second Node input you want to connect.

2b. Drop

3. A line connecting the nodes appears and the Connection was created successfully message is displayed.
Remember, if the connection is not valid a red line with a warning is displayed between the nodes and the Connection not valid message is displayed.

4. That's it. You're done.

How to Create Parallel Connections

Users can also add parallel connections between nodes that represent paths that are followed by the Workflow at the same time, once the previous step is completed.

For this, add connections between the first Node output and all the desired Nodes inputs.

6 STEPS

1. Locate the first Node output and place the cursor on it .Click and hold, and then drag and drop over the second Node input you want to connect.

1b. Drop

2. A line connecting the nodes appears and the Connection was created successfully message is displayed.

3. Now, locate the first Node output and place the cursor on it .Click and hold.

4. And then drag and drop over the desired Node input you want to connect.

4b. Drop

5. A line connecting the nodes appears and the Connection was created successfully message is displayed.

6. That's it. You're done.

How to Create Merged Connections

Users can also create connections between different nodes that merge into a single subsequent step.

To do this, add connections from the output of the desired Nodes to the input of the subsequent Node.

How to Delete Connections

To delete a connection follow these steps:

  1. Locate the connection to delete and click on it.
  2. Press the ← Backstep key. The Connection was deleted successfully message is displayed.

4 STEPS

1. To delete a connection locate the connection to delete and click on it.

2. Press the ← Backstep key.

3. The Connection was deleted successfully message is displayed.

4. That's it. You're done.
