Overview

Neodeluxe Fact Link is designed to simplify the review and organization of PDF documents for legal cases. This powerful application enables centralized case fact management by gathering, organizing, and managing critical case evidence for stronger case analysis and more effective legal strategies.

Key functionalities include:

  • Upload documents, and import documents from Filevine.
  • Highlight critical case evidence by identifying facts in documents, by selecting specific text sections or even full pages.
  • Categorize critical case evidence by assigning it to specific types of facts.
  • Sort documents in a specific order for efficient review.
  • Quickly locate facts within documents with the click of a button.
  • Navigate between documents seamlessly by scrolling through.
  • Add and manage comments within facts.
  • Download fact lists and related PDF content in various formats.

Files uploaded through Fact Link are securely stored in your AWS S3 bucket, in the public folder corresponding to your Filevine tenant.

Key Terms and Definitions

  • Fact: A piece of information relevant to the case, often supporting or refuting an argument, claim or defense, statements about events, actions, dates, or circumstances that are verified and can be proven with evidence. Facts are added to a specific part of a document or a complete page to highlight relevant information.
  • Fact Date: The date associated with a fact, such as when an event occurred. By default, it is set to the creation date, but can be updated to reflect a relevant timeline.
  • Fact Type: A criteria or category that specifies the nature of a fact (e.g., issue type, theme, witness, etc), helping users group facts and organize them effectively. 
  • Package: A folder containing documents related to a specific case.
