The RATES tab within the Invoicing page allows you to define and manage billing rates used across Neostella. This ensures that all work is priced consistently by using standardized hourly rate configurations, including name, amount, currency, and effective dates. Rates can be assigned to specific users to establish a  time entries structure and its consistent billing logic. Additionally you can activate or deactivate rates and control when they apply using effective dates.

The elements in this view are described below:

Click this button to create a new rate.

Search in the table based on the entered data.
  1. RATES

Displays the list based on existing rates. Columns in the RATES view are:

  • Rate Name: Displays the name of the rate. Click the name to open the rate management view.
  • Description: Displays the rate description.
  • Amount (per hour): Displays the hourly rate value.
  • Currency: Displays the currency of the rate.
  • Status: Displays whether the rate is active or inactive.
  • Effective Start Date: Displays the effective start date when the rate begins to apply.
  • End Date: Date when the rate stops applying.
  1. USERS

Displays the list expressed in rate by users. Columns in the USERS view are:

  • User: Displays the name of the user.
  • Rate Name: Displays the rate assigned to the user.
  • Amount: Displays the hourly rate value.
  • Currency: Displays the currency of the rate.
  • Status: Displays whether the rate is active or inactive.
  • Effective Start Date: Date when the rate begins to apply.
  • End Date: Date when the rate stops applying.

how to create a rate

To create a rate in Neostella, follow these steps: 

  1. In the Invoicing interface, go to the RATES  tab and click + RATE.
  2. Enter the Rate Name*.
  3. Enter the Amount (per hour)*. Use a period (.) to include decimals.
  4. Select the Currency.
  5. Enter the Effective Start Date*.
  6. Enter the End Date.
  7. Enter the Description of the rate.
  8. In the User Selection section, go to the Users panel on the left page and select one or multiple users by checking the boxes. Use the search icon to filter displayed users.
  9. Click ADD to move them to the Assignees panel on the right side. To remove users from the assignees panel, select them and click REMOVE.
  10. Click SAVE. The Rate has been created message is displayed.
The rate will be applied to the selected users once the Effective Starting Date is reached.

how to edit a rate

To edit a Rate  in Neostella, follow these steps: 

  1. In the Invoicing interface, RATES tab, locate in the list the rate to edit and click its name.
  2. In the Rate management page, modify the rate configuration as required.
  3. Click SAVE. The Rate has been edited message is displayed.

how to delete a rate

To delete a rate in Neostella, follow these steps: 

  1. In the Invoicing interface, RATES tab, locate in the list the rate to delete and click its name.
  2. Click DELETE. The Delete Rate? modal window is displayed.
  3. Click YES, DELETE RATE.The Rate has been deleted message is displayed and the record is removed from the list.
The Rate will be permanently deleted from the platform and assigned users to this rate will be unassigned.

how to activate/deactivate a rate

To activate or deactivate a rate in Neostella, follow these steps:

  1. In the Invoicing interface, RATES tab, locate in the list the rate and click its name.
    In the rate management page, locate the Status field.
    Select Active or Inactive as required.
    Click SAVE.
  2. NOTE:
    Only Active rates are available to be applied to users’ time entries.
  3. In the Invoicing interface, RATES tab, locate in the list the rate to delete and click its name.
  4. Click DELETE. The Delete Rate? modal window is displayed.
  5. Click YES, DELETE RATE.The Rate has been deleted message is displayed and the record is removed from the list.
The Rate is permanently deleted from the platform, and users assigned to this rate are unassigned.
