The Neodeluxe iManage integration connects iManage and Filevine through the Neodeluxe Sidebar, enabling legal teams to access and upload iManage documents while working in Filevine. Documents remain securely stored in iManage, while users enjoy a unified experience without having to switch between platforms. This integration eliminates data duplication and syncing errors by maintaining a single source of truth in iManage. Users can also upload files into iManage via the Sidebar.

How These Tools Work Together

iManage
A document and email management system (DMS) that helps law firms store, organize, and secure case-related files, emails, and documents. It provides version control, search functionality, and security compliance.

Filevine
A cloud-based legal case and project management system that helps law firms track cases, deadlines, communication, and documents. It integrates with other tools to streamline workflow automation.

Neodeluxe Integrations
The connective layer that unifies platforms like Filevine and iManage. Neodeluxe automates document syncing, enhances data consistency, and streamlines cross-platform workflows to reduce friction and save time.

How the Integration Works

The Neodeluxe iManage integration is made up of two core components:

  • Neodeluxe Sidebar (Chrome Extension)
    Allows users to interact with iManage documents directly from within Filevine, without switching tabs. You can upload, view, and version documents linked to the currently open Filevine project.

  • Neodeluxe Application (Web Admin Dashboard)
    Enables administrators to configure and manage the iManage connection. This includes setting up the iManage application, verifying credentials, mapping Filevine projects to iManage workspaces, and more.

Together, these tools ensure your team has full visibility and control over document management processes across Filevine and iManage.

Why Use This Integration?

The integration solves key challenges legal teams face when managing documents across multiple systems:

  • Reduces context switching: The sidebar extension connects both platforms, reducing context switching by eliminating the need to open iManage in a separate tab.
  • Avoids file duplication: Upload once through the sidebar and sync with both Filevine and iManage.

  • Streamlines administration: The setup and mapping tools in Neodeluxe reduce IT overhead.
Before you can use any part of the integration, you must install and log in to the Neodeluxe Sidebar extension. None of the features will work without it.

How to Access iManage Setup in Neodeluxe

You can access the iManage integration settings through Neodeluxe to configure, sync, and map iManage workspaces with Filevine projects. These configurations will then appear in the Neodeluxe Sidebar within Filevine. To access the iManage setup: 

1. Click on the Admin Menu
2. Click Integrations
3. Click iManage

Once installed and logged in, the Neodeluxe Sidebar automatically detects the currently open Filevine project and displays documents from the corresponding iManage workspace. The sidebar supports real-time syncing—changes in iManage—such as uploading new versions—appear instantly in the sidebar.

Neodeluxe Platform Overview: Setup and Mapping

Two iManage integration roles are available: Admin and User.

  • Admins can configure the iManage integration within the portal and use the iManage sidebar.
  • Users can access and use the iManage sidebar in their projects.

1. App Setup Tab

This is where the connection between Neodeluxe and iManage is established. You'll:

  • Register the Neostella app in your iManage Control Center.
  • Set your token expiry
  • Verify your iManage hostname.
  • Select the document library.

Once complete, Neodeluxe can communicate securely with your iManage tenant.

2. Mapping Tab

After setup, use this tab to link Filevine projects with specific iManage workspaces. You can:

  • Upload a .CSV mapping file
  • Add individual projects manually
  • Edit or delete existing mappings
When uploading a .CSV file, make sure it includes the correct iManage Workspace IDs (associated with the connected database) and the corresponding Filevine Project IDs. This ensures proper alignment between systems.

To find the correct iManage workspace ID, check the URL when you're inside the workspace. It will look something like this:

For example: https://cloudimanage.com/work/web/r/libraries/DEV/folders/DEV!123?selectedItem=DEV!123

In this example, the workspace ID is DEV!123. This is the value you'll need to use when setting up the mapping in Neodeluxe.

The Mapping tab ensures that each Filevine project is correctly linked to its corresponding iManage workspace.
