Documents - Templates Overview

The Documents – Templates feature in the Control Center enables users to manage document templates efficiently.

These templates are designed in Microsoft Word and can be fully customized, including fonts, colors, tables, lists, and other formatting elements. A key purpose of these templates is to automate the insertion of data using Variables. Inserted Variables automatically will populate the document with the correct information, reducing manual effort and ensuring consistency. These templates can also contain:

  • Concatenated Variables by combining existing variables.
  • Use WHEN/OTHERWISE conditionals to display or hide specific content based on defined rules.
  • Generate dynamic Lists and Tables that automatically adjust according to the provided data.

Templates can be created directly in Microsoft Word using the Neostella Document Generator Add-In. Once a template is created and published, it is available for document generation and listed in this dashboard for its management.

This feature is ideal for automating documents such as forms, contracts, invoices, reports, and letters, where the structure stays the same but the content varies.

Remember, generating a document from a template:

  • Fills in fields with provided data.
  • Shows or hides content based on conditions.
  • Inserts lists from collections of items.
  • Build tables based on dynamic content from parent objects.
