How to Manage the Automations Editor

This article explains how to name a new automation, rename it later, check its status, review warnings, create variables, and manage automation settings.

 

How to Assign a Name to a New Automation

1. Click + New Automation.
2. Enter a name.
3. (Optional) Add a description.
4. Click Create.

1. To assign a name to a new automation,
first, click on the + NEW AUTOMATION button.

2. Then, enter a name for the automation.

3. Also add a Description, this is optional.

4. Click CREATE.

5. The editor opens automatically, showing the automation name at the top.

6. That's it. You have assigned a name to an automation.

How to Update an Automation Name

1.  From the Automations List, click the automation name.
2.  In the toolbar, click the Settings button 
3. In the General tab, select Rename Automation.
4.  Enter the new name.
5. Click CLOSE.
6. Click SAVE.

first, from the Automations List, click the name of the automation you want to edit.

2. In the toolbar, click the Settings button.

3. Then, in the General tab, select Rename Automation.

Enter the new name.

4. When you’re done, click Close.

5. Then click Save to apply the change.

How to Check an Automation’s Status

You can view the automation status in three places:

1. In the editor toolbar, next to the automation name.
2. In the Status column of the Automations List.
3. Or in the Version History panel, which shows the status of previous versions.

1. To check an automation’s status,
you can review it in a few different places, depending on what you’re working on.

First option, find the status in the Status column of the Automations List.

2. Second option, click on an automation's name and in the editor toolbar, you’ll see the status displayed next to the automation name.

3. Finally, the Version History panel shows the status of previous versions, helping you understand how the automation has changed over time.

How to Review Automations Warnings

Warnings identify configuration issues inside the process. To view them:

1. Click Warnings in the editor toolbar.
2. Review the list of errors.
3. Click View to highlight the affected step on the canvas.

2. This displays a list of configuration issues detected in the process.

Review the list carefully.

3. Click View on any warning.

This will highlight the affected step directly on the canvas, making it easier to understand what needs attention.

How to Create a Variable

1. Click + ADD VARIABLE.
2. Enter a Name.
3. Select a Data Type:

  • String – text values
  • Number – numeric values
  • Boolean – true/false
  • Date – date and time

4. Enter the Value.
You can add more variables using the + ADD VARIABLE button, or delete existing ones with the delete icon.
5. Click Save.

1. To create a variable, click on the variable button.

2. Click + ADD VARIABLE

3. Start by entering a name.

4. Next, select a Data Type based on the kind of value you need.

This can be String for text, Number for numeric values, Boolean for true or false, or Date for date and time.

5. Then, enter the Value for the variable.

6. You can add additional variables at any time using the + ADD VARIABLE button.

7. And remove existing ones using the delete icon.

8. Click SAVE.

9. That's it. You have created a variable.

How to Manage Automation Settings

Each tab within Settings provides different configuration actions.

  • General

Rename the automation:

  1. Click Rename Automation.
  2. Enter the new name.
  3. Click CLOSE.
     
  • Application

1. Adjust Workflow Orientation.
ClicK on the dropdown menu ans select between horizontal or vertical.

2. Enable or disable Autolayout Behavior, which automatically organizes steps in the workflow.
3. Click CLOSE.

  • Tags

Tags help categorize and organize automations. To add a tag:

1. Click +.
2. Enter a tag name or select an existing one.
3. Click CLOSE.

8 STEPS

1. To manage automation settings,
open the Settings panel.

Each tab provides different configuration options for how the automation behaves and how it’s organized.

2. In the GENERAL tab,
you can rename the automation.

3. Click Rename Automation, enter the new name, and then click CLOSE.

4. In the APPLICATION tab,
you can adjust the Workflow Orientation.

5. To change the workflow orientation, click on the dropdown menu and select between a Horizontal or Vertical layout, and then click CLOSE.

6. You can also enable or disable Autolayout Behavior, which automatically organizes steps on the canvas.

When you’re done, click CLOSE.

7. In the TAGS tab, tags help you categorize and organize automations.
Click the plus icon, enter a new tag name or select an existing one, and then click CLOSE.

8. That's it. You're done.
