What is the Project Feed?
The Project Feed is a chronological timeline that displays key events and updates related to a project, providing full visibility into what has happened within a project.
Who can configure the Project Feed?
Only users with administrative permissions can create, edit, activate, or deactivate Project Feed configurations in Control Center > Schema > Project Feed.
How does the Project Feed relate to Project Types?
Project Feed configurations are defined at the Project Type level. All current projects created using a configured Project Type follow the same settings for generating Project Feed items.
What happens if a Project Type does not have a Project Feed configuration?
Projects created under a Project Type without a configuration will display an empty Activity Feed.
Which events appear in the Project Feed?
Only Object Events that are enabled in the Project Feed configuration will generate Project Feed items Events that are not enabled will not appear in the Project Activity Feed.
Can I control which Objects and Events generate items?
Yes. Admin users can select which Objects to include and enable specific Events (such as Create or Update) for each Object. Optional custom messages can also be applied.
What happens when a Project Feed configuration is inactive?
When inactive, no new Project Feed items are generated for projects under that Project Type. Activity that occurs during the inactive period is not created retroactively when the configuration is reactivated.
Are Project Feed updates applied to existing projects?
Yes. Once a configuration is active, all current projects created under the selected Project Type immediately begin generating Project Feed entries based on the settings.
Can I customize the message shown in a Project Feed item?
Yes. Users with administrative permissions can define a custom message per Object Event. If no custom message is configured, the system displays a default message.
Does configuring the Project Feed affect the Activity Feed interface?
Yes. The Project Feed configuration determines which events appear in the Activity Feed that end users see within each project, according to the Project Type.
