Portal Forms: Conditional Settings and Description Field Settings

  • Updated

This article walks you through the process of configuring Conditional Settings and Description Field Settings in Neodeluxe Forms.

Input Field: Conditionals

Conditional settings allow you to apply specific conditions to a field, making it visible based on "expected" values entered in other fields. This ensures only relevant fields are displayed for the user.

  • Add Conditionals
Follow these steps to set up a conditional:

1. Click Conditional in the field settings.
2. Specify the Expected Value (this is the trigger value that will activate the condition).
3. Select the Field Codes that will act as triggers.
4. Click Add Conditional to save the condition.
5. Click Apply to save your changes.

A list of all the created conditionals will appear under the Created Conditionals section for easy reference.

Description Field Settings

Description fields are used to provide instructions or descriptions to guide users when filling out the form. These fields have a text editor for customization.

  • Text Editing Box Settings
To add or edit a description:

1. Enter your text in the editor box.
2. Customize the text using the toolbar options.

  • Four font sizes
  • Three font styles
  • Font color selection
  • Bold text
  • Italicize text
  • Underline text
  • Numbered lists
  • Bullet point lists
  • Align text: Left, center, right, or justified

3. Click Apply to save your changes.

Although there is no character limit, concise and clear instructions are highly recommended.

Description Field: General Settings

These settings apply universally across all description fields in the form. When configuring description fields, the following general settings are available:

1. Click on General to access the settings for your description field.
2. Adjust the settings:

  • Description Fields - Advanced Layout: Field Position
Adjust the field’s position manually within the section. This helps reorder fields without affecting the rest of the form.

1. Delete the current field position.
2. Enter the new desired position number.
3. Click Apply to save changes.
4. The field will change position and subsequent fields will adjust accordingly.

  • Description Fields - Advanced Layout: Add Field Button
Quickly add a new field directly after an existing one without reordering the entire form:

1. Click Add Field.
2. Follow the prompts to add a new field.
