Portal Forms: Create Field

This article guides you through creating the different fields available for your Portal Forms.

Create Field

All field types are available for every section. This means that within a form section, you can add input fields, description fields, and calculation fields. 

Create a Form Section’s Input Field

Follow these steps to create an input field in a form section:

1. Create a Form Section.
2. Click Add Field
3. In the Add Field menu, select the Field Type: Input Field.
4. Select a Section Template.
5. Select a Field.
6. Click Apply

Create a Form Section’s Description Field

To create a description field in a form section, follow these steps:

1. Create a Form Section.
2. Click Add Field
3. In the Add Field menu, select the Field Type: Description Field.
4. Click Apply

Each click on the Apply button adds a new Description Field to the section

Create a Collection Section’s Input Field

To create an input field in a collection section, follow these steps:

1. Create a Collection Section.
2. Click Add Field
3. In the Add Field menu, select the Field Type: Input Field.
4. Select a Field.
5. Click Apply.

Create a Collection Section’s Description Field

Follow these steps to add a description field in a collection section:


1. Create a Collection Section.
2. Click Add Field
3. In the Add Field menu, select the Field Type: Description Field.
4. Click Apply

Each click on the Apply button adds a new Description Field to the section

Create a Project Details Section’s Input Field

Follow these steps to add an input field in a Project Details section:

1. Create a Project Details Section.
2. Click Add Field
3. In the Add Field menu, select the Field Type: Input Field.
4. Select a Field.
5. Click Apply

Create a Project Details Section’s Description Field

To create a description field in a Project Detail section, follow these steps:

1. Create a Project Details Section.
2. Click Add Field
3. In the Add Field menu, select the Field Type: Description Field.
4. Click Apply

Each click on the Apply button adds a new Description Field to the section

Create a Calculation Field

A Calculation Field is unique in its type because it doesn't require users to input or describe information directly. Instead, it displays the final calculated result based on other defined fields within the form. To set up a Calculation Field, follow these steps:

1. Create a section.
2. Click Add Field
3. Select the Field Type: Calculation Field.
4. Click Apply

To include fields in the calculation, the section must have at least two other number-type fields within the form.
