Who can use this feature? 

Admins (factlink_admin), Package Creators (factlink_creator), and Members/Everyday Users (factlink_user).

When is selected a document in the package list, the following options are available:

 

  1. Document’s Name: This displays the active document’s name
  2. Set Full Screen: Click the Set Full Screen button to enter full-screen mode. To return to the default view, click the X button in the top-right corner.
  1. PDF viewer Toolbar: In this toolbar the following options are available:

  • Panel: Open a side panel to view thumbnails of the document pages.
  • View Controls: This option expands the controls for page visualization, orientation, and layout.
  • Zoom Controls : These options allow users to fit the document to width or page, adjust the zoom percentage, and zoom in or out.
  • Pan: Allows users to navigate or move around the document without changing the zoom level, by dragging the document to a different area on the screen.
  • Select: Allows users to select and highlight text.
  • Search: Allows users to find specific text or phrases within the PDF document.
  • Comments: Allows users to view the internal annotations within the PDF document.

NOTE: These comments are distinct from the comments related to the facts.

  • Menu: This option includes the following features: Full Screen , Print , Dark mode, and Language settings.
  1. Navigation: The controls allow users to move between pages or specify a page number to view.

  1. Documents Gallery: When the Documents Gallery button is clicked, the documents in the package are displayed, along with arrows to navigate, jump, and view the selected document in the PDF viewer.

Navigate through the documents by scrolling the mouse wheel. When reaching the bottom of the last page, Fact Link will automatically switch to the first page of the next document. Similarly, when on the first page and scrolling up to the top, it will switch to the last page of the previous document.

Note: The displayed order in the Documents Gallery matches the order in the package list of documents.

  1. Fact Notes: This section contains: 
  • Full Page Fact: Click this button to create a new fact associated with the document’s active page.
  • Fact Filters

The Group By, and Sort By, and Search By buttons at the top of the Fact Notes section allow you to customize and filter your fact list to locate specific facts. You can use the Group By , Sort By , and Search By filters simultaneously to obtain combined results, giving you more precise control over the facts displayed.

  • Group By

The Group By button allows you to organize facts by different categories:

  • Created By: Groups facts based on the users who created them.

  • Created Date: Groups facts based on the creation date.

  • Document: Groups facts based on the document in which they are located.

  • Fact Date: Group facts according to the specified fact date.

  • Fact Type: Group facts based on their Fact Type label.

  • Sort By

The Sort By button allows you to arrange facts in a specific order. By default, facts are sorted in descending order. To reverse the order, click the Descending button.

  • Created Date: Sorts facts based on the creation date.

  • Document: Sorts facts based on the document name.

  • Fact Date: Sorts facts based on the Fact Date.

  • Fact Type: Sorts facts based on the Fact Type.

  • Search By

Enter text in the search bar and filter facts by matching content using the Search By option. The following options allow you to search and filter fact results:

  • Fact Name: Searches for facts based on the name of the fact. 

  • Fact Content: Searches for facts based on the content of the fact. 

    If the text in a fact matches the entered search text, the corresponding fact will be displayed.

  • Created By: Searches for facts based on the name of the user who created the fact.

 

  • Fact Details: Displays all the existing facts in the PDF documents within the package, along with options to group, sort, and manage them.

There are two different ways of creating a fact: Facts based on Selected Text, and Facts Based on Full Page. Each fact contains the following elements:

  1. Fact Name: The name of the fact. Editable upon click.
  2. Document Name: The name of the document where the fact was created.
  3. User Name: The creator of the fact.
  4. Date & Time: When the fact was created.
  5. Fact Date: The date associated with the fact. By default, it shows the fact’s creation date, but can be modified by the user.
  6. Original: This tab displays the original selected text from the document.
  7. Edited: This tab displays the option to edit the document’s selected text. If not edited, it mirrors the original fact content.
  8. Comment Box: Add remarks or notes and press Enter to save.
  9. Go to Fact: Jump to the highlighted text or page where the fact is located.
  10. Fact Type: This dropdown allows you to categorize and label facts by selecting a fact type.
  11. Additional Options: Click the three dots for additional actions:
  • Delete Fact: Delete the fact and all associated data.
  • Download Fact Page: Download the page containing the fact.
  • Edit Fact Content: Modify the highlighted text or page.

  6. Page: Shows the page number in the document where the full-page fact was created.
  7. Original: This tab displays the original text in the document’s page.

NOTE: If the PDF is not OCR, the Original field is empty.

  1. Edited: This tab displays the option to edit the document’s page text If not edited, it mirrors the original fact content.

  1. Comment Box: Add remarks or notes and press Enter to save.

  3. Fact Type: This dropdown allows you to categorize and label facts by selecting a fact type.
