In this article, you will learn how to configure Portal Roles in the Neodeluxe Client Portal. Portal Roles define which users receive specific communications, assigned tasks, and how they view Projects in the Neodeluxe Client Portal.
NOTE: Portal Roles differ from User Roles, which are assigned individually to each user via Admin > General > Users, to control their permissions in Neodeluxe including specific products, menus, and actions. Portal User Access Roles Interface
- Go to the Admin menu and select Neodeluxe Portal.
- Select Portal Roles.
- Click the Project Types dropdown to view a list of existing project types in Neodeluxe, extracted from Filevine.
- When a Project Type is selected, a list displaying the existing roles in the Portal for that Project Type appears with the following information:
- Search: Enter text to filter the portal roles.
- Field Selector: The Filevine Role's Field Selector. This data is non-editable.
- Portal Role (field prompt): The name given to the Filevine Role for the Client Portal.
- Actions: Edit icon to allow users to modify the Portal Role (field prompt) information.
- Save: Save changes.
- Cancel: Cancel changes.
Managing Portal Roles
- In the Project Types dropdown, select the option that contains the Portal Roles to customize.
- Locate the row that corresponds to the Portal Role (field prompt) to modify, and click the Edit icon.
NOTE: Only the Portal Role (field prompt) is customizable; the Field Selector is not editable.
- Modify the Portal Role (field prompt) and click the Save icon to add the changes to the grid.
NOTES:
- Clicking the Save icon adds the changes to the grid, but it is not saved until the user clicks the Save button located at the bottom-left corner of the screen.
- To cancel the action, click the X icon.
- To save the changes click the Save button.
The message Portal Roles Updated Successfully appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Why Were the Changes in the Portal Roles Not Saved?
The Save icon allows you to add the changes to the grid, but the changes ARE NOT SAVED until the user clicks the Save button.
To save any modification or deletion, ensure you click the Save button located at the bottom-left corner of the screen.
