Understanding Acceptable Value Requests

Through Data Governance, under the Acceptable Values Request tab, Admins can track and manage acceptable value requests made by users in the Neodeluxe Sidebar when a Rule Based on Acceptable Values is triggered. Admins can review and decide whether to add or deny new acceptable values beyond those originally configured for the rule.

Admins can:

  • View the list of acceptable value requests.
  • Review details for each request.
  • Approve or deny requests individually or in bulk.

Users can submit Acceptable Values requests through the Neodeluxe Sidebar only when the configured rule has the Operator* field in the Acceptable Values section set to Equal or Contains.

Acceptable Value Requests

 When Admins access the Alerts tab, the interface includes the following elements:

  1. Show All Acceptable Values Requests: Check this box to additionally display requests with Approved or Denied status in the grid. By default, the list displays requests with Pending status.
  2. Review N Acceptable Values: This button becomes active when one or more Pending requests are selected. Clicking it will allow the review in bulk.
  3. Acceptable Values Requests grid: Contains the following columns:
Column  Description
Checkbox  Check this box to select the available request(s).
Rule Name The name of the rule for which the acceptable value is requested.
User Requesting Displays the username of the person who requested the new acceptable value through the Neodeluxe Sidebar.
Value to Approve Displays the value requested to be included in the rule.
Comments Displays any additional notes related to the request, provided by the user.
Status

Displays the current status of the request:

Pending: The request is awaiting review.

Approved: The request has been approved.

Denied: The request has been denied.

Action Contains the following buttons to take action on the corresponding request:
Clicking this button adds the new value to the acceptable values defined in the rule.
Clicking this button rejects the request.

Users can resolve requests individually or in bulk as follows:

  • Approving Acceptable Values Requests Individually 

    1. Go to the Acceptable Values Request tab, locate the request you want to approve, and then click the Approve button.

    The request status will be updated to Approved and the value is added as a new acceptable value in the corresponding rule.

    Denying Acceptable Values Requests Individually 

    1. Go to the Acceptable Values Request tab, locate the request you want to deny, and click the Deny button.

    The request status will be updated to Denied and the value will be rejected.

  • Managing Multiple Acceptable Value Requests

    Manage multiple acceptable value requests simultaneously and approve or deny them in bulk by following these steps:

    1. Go to the Acceptable Values Request tab and select the checkboxes for the requests to be simultaneously reviewed. Then click the Review N Acceptable Values button.
      The N in Review N Acceptable Values is a placeholder for a number and will dynamically change based on the number of alerts requests selected.
    2. In the Select Approval status* dropdown, choose either Approve or Deny status for the selected requests, then click Save

    Depending on the selected option in the Select Approval status*:

     

    • All the selected requests will be updated to Approved and the values will be added as a new acceptable value in the corresponding rules.
    • All the selected requests will be updated to Denied.
