Managing Acceptable Value Requests

Managing acceptable value requests are crucial to ensure Data Governance rules are effectively guiding data. This article guides Admins through the process of reviewing, approving, or denying requests for acceptable values.

Approving or Denying a Value Request

1. Go to the Acceptable Values Request tab in the Data Governance menu to view the Acceptable Values Requests list (for rules based on acceptable values).

NOTE: The list includes the following columns: Rule Name, User Requesting, Value to Approve, Comments, Status, and Actions. By default, the list displays requests with a status of Pending. To view all requests, click the Show All Acceptable Values Requests checkbox in the upper left corner.

2. Locate the request you want to review and click one of the buttons under the Actions column:

• Approve: Adds the new value to the acceptable values defined by the rule. The message "The values have been successfully approved" will appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen, and the status will be marked as Approved.
• Deny: Rejects the request. The message "The values have been Denied" will appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen, and the status will be marked as Denied.

Managing Multiple Acceptable Value Requests

Manage multiple acceptable value requests simultaneously and approve or deny them in bulk by following these steps:

1. Navigate to the Acceptable Values Request tab in the Data Governance menu to view the Acceptable Values Requests list (for rules based on acceptable values).

2. Select the request to review, then click the Review N Acceptable Values button. 

NOTE: The N in “Review N Acceptable Values” is a placeholder for a number and will dynamically change based on the number of alerts requests selected.

3. In the Select Approval status* dropdown field, choose either Approve or Deny status for the selected requests, then click Save. 

• Approve: Adds the new values to the acceptable values defined by the rule. The message "The values have been successfully approved" will appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen, and the status will be marked as Approved for all the selected requests.
• Deny: Rejects the request. The message "The values have been Denied" will appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen, and the status will be marked as Denied for all the selected requests.
